Have you ever heard of these tips using aluminum foil?
Everyone has at least one roll of aluminum foil in a kitchen drawer somewhere. It’s super useful for packing up lunch or baking stuff in the oven, but have you heard of these other nifty tricks using foil? We’ve put them together in one list, from cleaning hacks to solving technical problems. Do you already use all of them? After reading this article you probably will!
Improve your WiFi
We’ve all been there: you’re sitting in the corner of your backyard trying to watch a video or download a picture, but everything moves at a snail’s pace. There’s a pretty good chance you’re right at the spot where the WiFi cuts off. It’s a pain in the butt because now you’ll have to get up and walk to the router to fix the problem. But guess what? With just a little bit of aluminum foil, that will forever be an issue of the past. All you have to do is take a folded piece of foil and put it behind the router. This sends all the signals that are going the wrong way back in the right direction making your signal much stronger.
Cleaning pans
Do you have a pan that seems impossible to get clean? You may have accidentally burnt something on it or just didn’t do the dishes quickly enough. Often times, soap and a dishwashing scrub won’t be enough anymore to get rid of the filth, but with aluminum foil it just might work. All you have to do is put a bit of baking soda in the pan with a bit of water. After that, you’ll scrub it down with the foil and voilà: the stains disappear like snow in the sun.

Aluminum foil in the dishwasher
This tip is for everyone with a dishwasher. Especially knives, forks, and spoons often come out still looking dirty. The ball of aluminum foil makes sure they come out clean. Thanks to a chemical reaction between the foil and the ingredients in the dish soap, your silverware will come out looking brand new. Pretty handy, right?

Ailments
Suffering from headaches, painful joints or a cold? Aluminum foil is the perfect solution. It might sound crazy but by wrapping your feet in foil, these problems will disappear. Put it on your feet at night and keep it on while you sleep. After a few nights you’ll notice that the pain or cold is all gone. Crazy huh?

Cleaning a grill grate
Ready to start barbecuing again but your grill is still gross from the last time you used it? Cleaning that thing can an awful chore… but not if you use aluminum foil. All you have to do is ball up some foil and scrub it down. This will make the burnt-on pieces of food disappear like snow in the sun.

Handy when pouring paint
Could your house use a lick of paint? Then it may be a good idea to add some foil to the brushes and the cans of paint. That way you can avoid a lot of cleaning work later. If you put a sheet of aluminum foil in the can before pouring the paint, you only need to remove the foil from the can after painting, instead of cleaning the entire pan.

Painting
Some paint jobs are harder than others. Borders for example that can thankfully be taped off with painter’s tape. But what’s more difficult is painting around a doorknob or handle. Painter’s tape won’t help you much there, but aluminum foil can. Just take a piece of foil and wrap it around the doorknob and voilà: no more worries.

Protecting your car keys
Nowadays nearly everyone has car keys that allow you to unlock your car from a distance. Normally, the signal isn’t that strong and only works from a short distance, but some clever thieves have figured out a way to hack the keys and make the signal way stronger. This makes it easy for them to unlock your car from pretty far away. Thankfully, there’s a way to avoid this. All you have to do is wrap your keys in aluminum foil. This blocks the signal, meaning the thieves will be fresh out of luck.

Sharpening dull scissors
Do you have scissors laying around that are too dull to cut correctly? Then we’ve got a trick for you that will make them as good as new in a jiffy. All you need is – of course – a piece of aluminum foil. Fold it in half a few times until you have eight layers. Then, cut it up with your scissors a few times and you’ll notice it gets sharper instantly. Still not happy? Try cutting into a piece of sandpaper a few times and you’ll see just how well it works!

Iron even faster
Ironing is a relaxing chore, but it can take quite a bit of time. Aluminum foil can help make the process go a lot quicker. All you have to do is remove the cover from your ironing board and cover the board with foil. Put the cover back on and you’ll see that the process is sped up a lot! How does this work? The foil reflects the heat from the iron back into the clothes meaning you end up ironing both sides at the same time!
