1) Basil
Make a natural mosquito repellent with basil. Add 1 cup (250 mL) of dried basil to 1/2 cup (125 mL) of boiling water. Strain the ‘tea‘, add 1/2 cup (125 mL) of alcohol and voila!
2) Lemongrass
Simply plant lemongrass plants near the places where you relax outside. The smell alone will keep mosquitoes away!
3) Garlic
Chop a few cloves of garlic and cover them with mineral water for 1 day. Collect 1 teaspoon (5 mL) of the mixture, to which you will add 2 cups of water (500 mL).
4) Geranium
Decorate your patio with some potted geraniums. Again, the smell alone will keep mosquitoes away!
5) Mint
Crush a few mint leaves to release the scent. Place them on a plate in the center of the table. You can even go so far as to rub the mint leaves on you!
6) Indian marigold
In addition to adding a touch of color to your flower beds, marigolds will repel many insects, including mosquitoes!
7) Lavender
In addition to a great addition to your landscaping, the scent of lavender repels mosquitoes. Yet this smell is so pleasant for our nostrils!
8) Rosemary
Boil 1 cup (250 mL) of dried rosemary in 4 cups (1000 mL) of water for 20 minutes. Then filter into 4 more cups (1000 mL) of water. Pour the mixture into spray bottles to use as a mosquito repellent. The bottles keep very well in the fridge!
