Natural tips to make your kitchen hygienic

To clean the kitchen as well as the other compartments of the house, we generally make use of chemical cleaners, containing toxic substances capable of killing not only bacteria, but also likely to be a threat to our own health. We therefore recommend that you choose natural solutions that are as safe as they are effective.

1- Disinfect the sponges in the microwave:
We use the sponges to wash the dishes, they are used to get rid of cups, plates, spoons … of food scraps and other dirt. But there are times that dishwashing sponges also need a little cleaning.
Dish sponges can contain up to almost a million bacteria per cm2. To get rid of all this significant amount of bacteria, you just need to put them in the microwave for 2 minutes. It is more than enough to kill all the bacteria that have become embedded in it.

2- Unclog the drains with baking soda and vinegar:
By dint of leftover food in the sink, it eventually accumulates and clogs the drains. To unblock the drains, simply pour a pot of boiling water into it, then pour baking soda and let it act for a few minutes.
After which, pour a mixture of 1 spoon of Vinegar and a cup of very hot water over the baking soda. Cover with a drain plug (to keep the reaction below the drain surface) and let sit for 5-10 minutes. Finally, rinse once more with warm water.

3- Clean the dirty trays and pans with lemon:
Soak the pans, pots, trays and cookie molds in a mixture of hot water with baking soda and fresh lemon. You will see how fats go away on their own. You can also rub half a lemon around stainless steel cookware for extra shine before rinsing it and letting it air dry.
4- Dissolve the water spots with vinegar:
Stagnant water tastes can leave a white, dull crust on all kinds of shiny surfaces. To remove these spots, gently rub them with a sponge dipped in vinegar. Your kitchen will regain all its shine.

5- Deodorize the kitchen towels with baking soda and vinegar:
Kitchen towels are exposed to all kinds of food, drink and other dirt which can make them smell very bad. To clean them and give them a good smell, add a mixture of baking soda and vinegar to the washing machine. The towels will be clean and smell good.
6- Clean the grids with onion:
Just take half a peeled white onion and rub it on the racks. This removes the grubby matter that has accumulated there and adds an extra layer of flavor to your dinner.
7- Rub the cast iron pans with sea salt:
Soap should not be used on cast iron as it can ruin the seasoning. Instead, just use a steel scouring pad and a little sea salt to remove traces of grease. They will be clean and shiny.
