It is not enough to know the ingredients of a dish, but only how to add and mix them with each other. Sometimes the way you mix, the choice of ingredients, the instruments you use … all these little details can be decisive for the success of your dish. So, here are some cooking tips to help you improve your dishes.
1- Fry meat:
We almost all make the same mistake by frying the meat, turning it constantly. This should be avoided at all costs, as it makes the crust dry and less crunchy. Before turning your steak, first move the pan, if the steak moves, you can turn it over. Otherwise, you have to wait a moment.
2- Fry the meat in olive oil:
In addition to the common mistake presented above, you should also avoid frying meat in olive oil. Not because the olive oil is bad in itself, but because it sometimes gets too hot and will start to burn. This can especially affect the quality of your dish.
3- In addition, if you want to enjoy the taste of the meat, you should not eat it immediately after preparing it. Each meat dish needs a few minutes to “get a taste”. So wait for a few minutes after cooking.
4- Choose good quality eggs:
The best way to tell if your eggs are good is to soak them in a glass of water. When you put an egg in a glass of water, if it floats above the surface, you shouldn’t eat it. It means it’s rotten.
On the other hand, if it goes to the bottom of the glass, it proves that it is fresh, and that it can be eaten. If the egg stays in the middle, it shows that the egg is 2 to 3 weeks old, but it can also be eaten. On the other hand, if you have to prepare a lot of hard boiled eggs, a quick and effective solution is to bake them.
5- Soften butter:
If you need to soften butter just out of the fridge to make sandwiches, just put water in a microwave and then heat it up. Once heated, pour the water and put the glass on top of the butter. It will take just a few minutes before it is ready to use.
6- Grated cheese on the dishes prepared in the oven:
If you’re baking something, sprinkle grated cheese on the pan 5 minutes before it’s ready. Otherwise, it will burn and instead of melted cheese, you will have a chewy crust.
7- It is good to prepare fish on a roasting pan, on lemon slices: it will not stick to the grill, and the fish will absorb the citric aroma.
8- So that the aromatic herbs do not stick to the knife, sprinkle them with a little salt.
9- Do not put too much meat in the same pan. If you want juicy meat, leave some space between the pieces.
10- To prevent your chopping board from slipping while you are cutting your vegetables, put a cloth under it.
11- To make mashed potatoes, use only warm milk. If you add cold milk, the puree will turn gray.
